“All we want on earth is love” - a simple yet powerful statement that echoes through the driving new single “Artifact 22” by Eric Hilton, co-founder of the pioneering electronic music group Thievery Corporation. “Artifact 22” is the first in a series of planned singles that cross different genres, tempos, and sounds - ‘outlier’ tracks that don’t fit within Hilton’s album-based context.

“This year I will continue to broaden the range of music I release,” says Hilton. “Thievery Corporation explored a wide musical palette and our fans always came along on the journey. I think they’ll enjoy these “Artifacts” - the tracks are like markers left in time, ripples in the water.” And while the “a-side” of “Artifact 22” is more up-tempo than Hilton’s recent solo work, the “b-side” of the digital single is a dub version of the track, slower in tempo, more spacious and reverberant.

“After the last two years of struggles we’ve all been through,” says Hilton, “it just feels right to start 2022 and this series of singles with this mantra.
